Looking to add a little sparkle to your home or gift something truly unique? We’ve teamed up with the fabulous Resin Jules, resin artist extraordinaire, to show you how to create a cute, custom glitter tray using Hemway Glitter. Whether you're new to resin crafting or a seasoned DIYer, this tutorial will help you achieve shimmering results every time.

Let’s get into the glittery goodness!

What You’ll Need

Before we begin, gather your supplies. Preparation is key for a smooth, mess-free session.

  • Apron (resin can be messy!)

  • Nitrile gloves (to protect your hands)

  • Mixing stick

  • Mixing cups (one for each stage)

  • Hemway Glitter (pick your favourite colour or mix a few!)

  • Epoxy resin (Part A and B)

  • Resin mould

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Add Glitter to Resin Part A

Start by pouring the epoxy resin Part A into a mixing cup. Then sprinkle in your Hemway Glitter. Jules recommends adding the glitter at this stage to get it thoroughly dispersed and mixed. This also gives the glitter time to de-gas, helping reduce bubbles and ensuring that gorgeous sparkle shines through clearly.

2. Let It Rest

Allow the glitter and Part A mixture to sit undisturbed for 2 minutes. This pause helps settle any bubbles and gives you time to get your Part B ready.

3. Add Part B Mix Thoroughly

Next, add epoxy resin Part B to the glitter mixture. Mix both parts together thoroughly for 3 minutes. Scrape the sides and bottom of the cup as you go - this ensures everything cures evenly.

4. Pour Into Your Mould

Now the fun part! Carefully pour your glittery resin mix into the mould, making sure to fill all corners and edges.

5. Let It Cure

Place the mould on a flat surface and let it cure undisturbed for 12 to 24 hours, depending on your resin’s instructions. Try not to peek - dust and fingerprints can spoil the finish!

6. Demould and Admire

Once cured, gently peel the tray out of the mould. And there you have it your very own resin creation! Use it to hold jewellery, keys, or simply display it as a work of art.
